For those that are looking for a .22 that is great for plinking or hunting small animals, check out the Sig Sauer Mosquito. We have covered some of the Sig guns before, the Sig Sauer P229 among others. We mostly try to cover the best police equipment, but like to mix in other guns of interest from time to time. In this review we will take a look at the Sig Sauer Mosquito to give visitors a better idea of some of the pros and cons. We will also take a look at some of users reviews for the Sig Sauer Mosquito to see what actual users have to say.

First a quick overview of the Sig Sauer Mosquito features:

Type – semi-auto

Action – single/double

Caliber – 22LR

Barrel length – 3.9 inch

Capacity – 10

Safety – Ambidextrous (right or left)

Grips – Polymer

Sights – Adjustable

Weight – 24.69 ounces

Finish – Several to choose from

This line of new polymer .22′s is becoming quite popular. While a .22 is often consider a gun for play or fun, the ergonomic design of the Sig Sauer Mosquito, along with numerous other top-of-the-line features, are earning this gun some serious attention. The accessory rail, fixed barrel, adjustable sights, and multiple safety features just add to the value of the Sig Sauer Mosquito. When you are looking for the best police gun on the market, this is probably not what you are looking for. But if you are looking for a good target gun for your spouse or kids, take a look at the Sig Sauer Mosquito. This gun comes in multiple colors and finishes to best fit whomever will be using the gun. Choose from the two-tone, camo, pink, green, or one of several other looks. With the Sig Sauer Mosquito you know you are getting a quality .22 that will meet its intended purpose.

Choosing a Sig also guarantees that you will not have a hard time finding the right accessories for your gun. From the best gun holsters to magazine pouches and much more. Most of the Sig Sauer Mosquito reviews are very positive. Users love the look and feel of this gun. The most typical complaint comes from those that have had problems with it jamming, however; many reviewers have mentioned that using 500 rounds of CCI (Cascade Cartridges, Inc.) through the .22 first, then using cheaper rounds afterwards generally prevents most of the jamming problems. The overall weight and feel of the gun receives very high marks across the board. As with any gun purchase, do some homework before hand. Research the features and specs of several guns, read some manufacturers reviews as well as some actual user reviews. If possible visit a local gun shop where you can see and hold the gun to determine if it is what you are looking for.

The Sig Sauer Mosquito is backed by the Sig name, which in itself means a lot. The Sig Sauer Mosquito is also backed by the Sig warranty, for which you can register your firearm right on their website. Visit the Sig Sauer website for full product information and to find out more about the other great Sig Sauer firearms that are currently available.

Point Blank Body Armor Inc. is a subsidiary of Point Blank Solutions, Inc. and was established in 1973. Headquarters are located in Pompano Beach, Florida but employs more than 1,000 people globally. Point Blank Body Armor takes pride in their research and development and works to provide the best body armor in the world. With a sure understanding that their product has to protect and saves lives every single day. In this Point Blank Body Armor review we will cover a few of the basics about what they have to offer.

Point Blank Body Armor is manufactured in the United States. With ever changing needs and type of protection, the Point Blank Body Armor development team is constantly working on research and development to provide the best body armor for every situation. Whether the body armor is needed to protect the user from bullets, stab wounds or other types of threat. As one of the most highly recognizable brands in body armor worldwide, Point Blank Body Armor is used by military, government, security personnel, and law enforcement.

Some of the best police equipment reviews talk about the Point Blank Body Armor. First, one must determine which type of body armor one will need for the situation: concealment body armor, tactical body armor, ballistic body armor, or corrections body armor. Point Blank Body Armor develops and manufactures body armor specific to the needs of the user. Officers can choose from male or female designs to get the best fit for their police gear. Other body armor options to consider include the weight, inserts, antimicrobial properties, cumberband stabilizers and more.

One must find the best body armor to meet the needs and situation for which it will be used the most, this is just as important has having the best police gun or any other part of your police gear. Having body armor that fits correctly and protects all vital organs is essential for proper protection. The Point Blank Body Armor features the Self Suspending Ballistic System this system is designed to keep the panels securely in place to maximize the coverage area to ensure that vital areas are protected no matter what position the officer is in.

Point Blank Body Armor for tactical teams include removable groin and bicep and throat protection as well. For tactical teams that may be in a situation where these areas are particularly vulnerable these inserts will provide added protection for these areas. Corrections body armor from Point Blank Body Armor provides the best stab protection of any body armor in the industry. Correction officers can choose from stab protection packages that include Spike Levels 1, 2, or 3 with optional edged weapon level 3 protection. It is important to understand that not all body armor is designed to work in every situation. Just because a vest is a bullet proof vest and has ballistic protection does not mean that it is meant to protect against stab wounds.

Understanding what you need for the best body armor, and how it will fit with your police uniform, will help you find the best police equipment for your individual circumstances and situation. No matter where you will be using your body armor, Point Blank Body Armor has a design that will protect you. Read some Point Blank Body Armor reviews to find the best body armor to suit your needs.

You may be wondering what the heck is Police Equipment Reviews writing about today and to be honest, it is a little off track for our typical police equipment reviews. What we are going to be talking about today is something that Police Equipment Reviews is very familiar with and that is running a police officers association. Not so much the day to day task, but something that will help make your life easier as a board director. We are talking about text message marketing.

Text message marketing or SMS text messaging is very easy to use and a great tool to use. Not only can you use for your own members, but also with the general public to keep them in the loop. Not in the loop of new police gear, but in the loop for social events that you are putting on or political events. SMS text messaging is easy to spread the word. Here is the low down on it…

The union first signs up for a text messaging plan. We highly recommend SMS Text Host as it is very affordable and has a very easy control panel to use. After signing up with SMS Text Host you will choose a keyword. A keyword is any word that is 4-12 characters long. So for example, “host”. You then promote your keyword and tell people to text “host” to a certain phone number that is assigned to you. So, in our example it would 33938. So when people text “host” to 33938 they get added to your contact list. Then, any time you want to send out a message, it goes to all of your contacts that have been added.

We have seen police association use SMS Text Host for numerous reasons. If you are limiting the messages to just your membership, it is a great way to take votes, pass on important information, and remind them of certain dates such as the monthly meetings. We have then seen it used to notify the public of certain events such as charity golf tournaments, pancake breakfasts, and notifications during election period.

The cool thing about SMS Text Host is how easy it is and how many options you have to choose from. For instance, if you want to set up two keywords you can do that very easily. One could be for the public and one for the membership. Sending these messages is 100% web based. With the easy to use control panel from SMS Text Host, you can send out messages immediately or schedule them to go in the future.

SMS Text Host starts at only $24.95 a month which is a great deal. You can’t get a new Glock for that price nor any new Sig Sauer rifles, so head over to SMS Text Host and find out how it can help you. It has sure helped Police Equipment Reviews!

There are so many different types of police boots that it can be hard for a police officer to figure out which one is the best police boot! One thing that Police Equipment Reviews has learned over time is that what your partner may like, my not be the best for you. We don’t care if we are talking about the best pistols or underwear! No two people are alike and this includes your feet. In this Police Equipment Reviews article we are going to discuss some companies that we think make the best police boots overall.

Bates Footwear- Bates Footwear has been making police boots for quite some time is one of the most popular companies out there. Police Equipment Reviews has worn Bates police boots for most of our career and we love them. We have found them to be very comfortable and affordable. Bates police boots come in many styles that include various heights, lace up options, waterproof options, and color. The newest collection that Bates has released is called the Individual Comfort System. This new system is designed to offer you the ultimate comfort. Police Equipment Reviews has a pair of these on order and will be sure to do a full review of them after we wear them for some time.

Danner- Danner has been making police boots and outdoor boots since 1932! One thing that Police Equipment Reviews has always heard is how nice it is to be able to replace the soles on the Danner police boots. What this allows you is the ability to keep a well worn pair of police boots in service with the only need to replace the soles every once in a while. What a great option to have. But with that options come a little bit higher of a price tag to start out. This is partly because Danner police boots are only made of the best materials. If there was a downfall to the Danner boots is only the price. Other than that Danner makes some of the best police boots.

Magnum- Magnum police boots are popular because of their price. While Magnum makes some good police boots they are more of an entry level to medium level police boot. They are comfortable and affordable. Police Equipment Reviews has worn Magnum police boots but we found after about a year they started to wear out and need replacement.

5.11 Tactical- 5.11 Tactical is also now making police boots along with police uniforms. Just like all the 5.11 Tactical products, the 5.11 police boots are built to the highest standards. The 5.11 Tactical police boots come in 6” or 8” models along with a safety toe or non safety toe option. All the new 5.11 Tactical police boots feature a shock mitigation system which helps ease the wear and tear on your feet.

These four companies offer some of the best police boots that you can find at your local police equipment store. Just like we said in the beginning of this police boots review, what is good for one might not be good for you. The best thing you can do is to try on several of these police boots to make sure you find the best police boot for you.

It’s been some time since Police Equipment Reviews has done a real in depth police gear review and now is the time to start back doing regular posts! A lot has happened since Police Equipment Reviews has posted on a regular basis. There is a lot of new police equipment out there that a lot of officers have been asking me about. Well, to kind of get back into the groove of things, I’m going to talk about three different types of police guns that there are.

Revolvers- Revolvers are old school. They are country western. But, they are also a great weapon for police officers. As you know a revolver doesn’t have a magazine, instead the bullets are circulated around the gun. There are many types of revolvers out there but some of the best revolvers are made by Smith and Wesson revolvers. Smith and Wesson has a long history in the gun industry so when we say they make some of the best revolvers it shouldn’t come to you as a surprise.

Pistols- Pistols or handguns are the most common type of police gun. There are so many manufacturers of pistols. Some of the best pistols are made by Glock, Ruger, and H&K. Typically a police pistol will be a semi automatic handgun that holds up to 16 rounds. The most common pistol used by police officers is either the Glock 22 or the Sig Sauer P229.

Rifles- Rifles are great. They are very accurate and can knock a person down! Nowadays you are seeing more and more patrol officers carrying rifles and getting away from the shotguns. It is mainly because of the two reasons we listed already. You don’t need to have a sniper rifle to have one of the best rifles on your squad. Ruger rifles are very affordable and get the job done.

As Police Equipment Reviews gets back into the groove we are going to talk about these types of guns more and more. We are going to get very detailed about them so you can make sure you buying the best gun out there. Of course we are still going to do general articles such as one on Stalker radars or Streamlight flashlights, but we want to cover all the topics again!

Text message alerts have recently become a very popular topic amongst police departments. Many police departments, including Northern Idaho, Washington D.C., and Minneapolis, have already implemented text message alerts in an effort to keep citizens informed about recent crimes, accidents, or emergency conditions. These text message alerts can help citizens avoid areas that may quickly become congested, and therefore allow for emergency vehicles to respond in a speedier and more efficient manner.

TXT180.com has launched a new text message marketing campaign designed to assist police department and other emergency services Nationwide in providing their citizens with a message alert system that can reach thousands of residents with instant warnings of potential dangers. This method has been tested, and found to be a very effective method, by many businesses, college campuses, and emergency services. If you think about it, there is no other means of communication that can reach more people more quickly than by cellular phone. Let’s face it; chances are people are not going to be near a TV, radio, or other type of alert system at the time they are near a recent crime, disaster, accident, road closure, or weather condition. But, the chances of people having their cell phone with them, especially if travelling, is pretty significant.

These are just a few ways in which police departments can use mobile text messaging:

Recent Crime Alerts – By notifying citizens of recent crimes via text message people can avoid the area, quickly depart affected areas, or assist in locating suspects by calling 911.

Accident Alerts – Allows commuters to select alternate routes, reducing the amount of backup traffic related to accidents.

Weather Alerts – Notify citizens of tornadoes, hurricanes, high winds, winter storms, etc…

Road Closure Alerts – Provide drivers with road closure information due to weather, accidents, construction, etc. You may also provide alternate route information.

Disaster Alerts – Notifying residents of recent fires, rock/landslides, explosions, flooding, gas leaks, or natural disaster damage can help notify them of dangers, evacuations, and emergency services available.

Road Conditions – Let drivers know ahead of time when their road conditions may be affected by snow, ice, rain, construction, or accidents.

There are more people carrying cell phones today than any other singular device. And chances are if they receive a text message they are going to view it. A cell phone user is much more likely to read a brief message via text than any other form of advertisement, including a billboard, newspaper, television, newspaper, or radio report. They are also more likely to respond by avoiding an area, calling in tips, or changing their route than if contacted by any other method.

In our recent research to find a reliable and cost effective SMS text message marketing provider we found that TXT180.com provides some of the best mobile marketing products and services available. They offer 3 text marketing plans including a Value, Ultimate, and High Volume Enterprise Level plan. A few of the features included in the three TXT180.com text marketing plans include:

Value Plan – $9.95/month

500 Outbound Messages/mo

Unlimited Inbound Messages

Unlimited Subscribers

Phone & Email Support

Easy to Use Control Panel

Ultimate Plan – $17.95/month

1000 Outbound Messages/mo

Unlimited Inbound Messages

Unlimited Subscribers

Phone & Email Support

Easy to Use Control Panel

Enterprise Accounts – Cost quoted on per need basis

Dedicated Short Codes

Integrated Software

Unlimited Message Options

Unlimited Subscribers

Dedicated Account Manager

If your department has not considered, or in the process of considering using a text message provider for emergency alerts, we would recommend you compare and consider TXT180.com in your top choices. This could be as important in choosing the best police equipment for your officers!

It has been a while since we have done a TatJacket review and a lot has changed for the company. In today’s Police Equipment Reviews article we are going to revisit TatJacket, one of the best temporary cover up solutions for your tattoos. For those of you that don’t know what TatJacket is, it is just that; A temporary cover up for your tattoos.

Let’s face, we have all seen the police officer in his short sleeve police uniforms with his arm completely tattooed. You have had to wonder how he could get away with the visible tattoos. Most likely he was grandfathered in due to no policy being in place when he got them. Don’t think you are going to be that lucky if you go out right now and get your arm sleeved because almost agency has a tattoo policy in place.

So what are you suppose to do if you want to get your arms tattooed and your boss or agency won’t allow that? The answer is simple, get yourself a TatJacket. The TatJacket comes in several styles and colors with its main purpose of being a temporary tattoo cover up. The TatJacket is made out of a 90% nylon / 10% spandex material that comes in three colors. Additionally the TatJacket has a non slip top cuff and provides your arms and legs a UPF50 sun protection. Yes, you heard Police Equipment Reviews right, your arms and legs.

TatJacket makes several sleeves for the arms, both short and long sleeve. They also make a half sleeve that is designed to cover your lower leg or calf region. Recently TatJacket has seen an increase in wrist tattoos so they have developed a wrist sleeve. The TatJacket wrist sleeve can also work as an ankle sleeve if you need to cover your ankle tattoo.

In addition to tattoo cover up sleeves, TatJacket sells tattoo cover up makeup. No matter what size of tattoo you have, no matter what type of job you do, and no matter what your skin color, TatJacket has a temporary tattoo cover up product for you.

Wow where has time gone? Police Equipment Reviews has been so busy lately that we can’t believe how long it has been since the last time we did a police gear review. We started a web hosting review site after becoming interested in that stuff after the launch of our police equipment review site and police guns review site. But we are back and promise to get you more cop gear reviews on a frequent basis.

In today’s Police Equipment Review’s blog we are going to talk about some of our favorite pieces of police equipment that are out there. Kind of a general article! Those items are going to be the Rings Blue guns, Streamlight TLR 3 tactical light, and the 5.11 Tactical Taclite pro pants.

The Rings Blue guns are simulated firearms that are designed to be used during training scenarios. The guns are made out of polyurethane with steel reinforcement so that they last very long. As you can probably tell from the name, the Rings Blue guns are blue in color signifying that they are a safe training weapon. The Rings Blue guns are available in Beretta, Walther, HK, Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson, and many long guns. Heck they even make a Taser International replica. These training firearms can be purchased at most major police gear stores.

The Streamlight TLR 3 is very similar to the Streamlight TLR 2 but a newer version. It features an LED light with 4,100 candela peak beam intensity which is a lot brighter than a lot of other tactical lights. The Streamlight TLR 3 will run for about 1.5 hours continuously. The Streamlight TLR 3 costs about $84.99.

Finally, a pair of police pants that is very comfortable. Even if they are designed for plain clothes, the 5.11 Tactical Taclite pants are very popular. These pants are very lightweight and made out of polyester and cotton. They feature all the necessary pockets and are available in six colors. The cost of the 5.11 Tactical Taclite pants are about $39.99.

One of the most popular Sig Sauer pistols is the Sig P229. The Sig Sauer P229 comes in many styles and calibers, all of which are some of the best police guns. Here are a couple of the most popular Sig Sauer P229 models.

Sig Sauer P229R- The original and still most popular Sig P229. It comes in a 9mm, 40 caliber, or .357 SIG version. Because of its accuracy and ergonomics, the Sig P229R is one of the most popular duty weapons. The Sig Sauer P229R is California complaint and costs about $799.99.

Sig Sauer P229 Elite- Built with the same high standards of all the Sig 229 pistols, The Sig Sauer P229 Elite has some extra features on it. Those features include a custom designed beavertail grip, front cocking serrations, and wood grips. The P229 Elite is available in both a 9mm and 40 caliber model. The Sig Sauer P229 Elite is not California compliant and costs about $1099.99.

Sig Sauer P229 SCT- On this Sig P229 pistol, the main benefit is the extra magazine capacity. In the 9mm gun you can carry up to 18 rounds and in the 40 caliber model you can carry up to 14 rounds. The Sig Sauer P229 SCT is not California complaint and costs about $974.99.

As like all police guns, there are many accessories for the Sig Sauer P229 pistols. There are many holsters available including Fobus holsters and Bianchi holsters. In addition there are several tactical flashlights including Streamlight flashlights and Surefire flashlights.

On a side note, Police Equipment Reviews has long been a customer of BlueHost web hosting and has promoted a BlueHost promo price in the past. We just got wind that BlueHost is about to make some changes to their web hosting package and should be really good. One of the key changes is that they are going to be extremely compatible with internet merchant accounts which is good for online police gear stores. That will make the selling of police equipment online a lot easier for them.
