Police Scanners

I thought for a while whether or not to do an article on police scanners, but I decided to. The reason I choose to write an article on police scanners is that I felt it is important for a police officer to understand how they work and some of the more popular police scanners.

Just recently we responded to an high risk incident and while searching the house we found several police scanners. This could pose a huge danger risk for police officers. Criminals are using police scanners to listen to us. Thankfully some states are starting to ban the use of police scanners.

On a side note, the subject that had all the police scanners was drunker than a skunk! I used my Intoximeters Alco Sensor IV breathalyzer and found the subject to be twice the legal limit!
